Bengaluru: BJP's Jayanagar MLA BN Vijayakumar dies of heart attack

Vijayakumar was one of the prominent legislators of his party and had represented Jayanagar constituency twice. He was looking for a hat-trick in the May 12 assembly elections against Karnataka home minister R Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Soumya Reddy.

BENGALURU: BJP suffered a major blow when its candidate BN Vijayakumar, an incumbent MLA from Jayanagar in Bengaluru, died of massive heart attack in the early hours of Friday. He was 59.
Vijayakumar collapsed during campaign on Thursday night and was admitted to the super speciality hospital Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Research Centre, where he breathed his last.

Vijay Kumar had joined the BJP in 1990 and was known as gentle man due to his sober and down-to-earth image.
